about us

Mogck Angus Farms is a progressive family run purebred Angus operation that has been raising cattle for over 80 years. We utilize the latest that science and technology have to offer to keep our herd at the forefront of superior Angus genetics. Whether it be embryo flushing, IVF or traditional AI, we allocate tremendous resources every year to cow herd improvement. A strong maternal herd is the foundation of our program and a top priority at Mogck Angus and while we pay attention to numbers (EPD's), we are not driven by them. Most important to us is customer relationships and knowing each of the families we do business with.

Mogck Angus Farms history traces back to 1933 when Adolph Mogck (David’s grandfather) purchased the farm’s first set of registered Angus cattle and soon followed that by joining the American Angus Association. In the 1960’s, the regional Angus rep was a man by the name of Vern Kurchberger. Vern would make frequent stops to Mogck Angus and would bring David (a young boy at the time believe it or not) colored pictures of Angus bulls, cows and calves which helped light the fire for David to continue on in the Angus business following high school.

Shortly after graduating, David learned to AI cattle and in the early 80’s began using Angus herd improvement records. The first embryo transplant at Mogck Angus Farms took place in 1989 which is about the same time that David’s sons (Damon & Justin) began showing Angus cattle in 4-H and at the state and national junior shows.

Today, Mogck Angus consists of 3 farms with 240 registered Angus cows and an additional 50 head of commercial/recipient cows. Our March 14th, 2019 bull sale marks our 31th Annual Production Sale. Visitors are always welcome to visit the farm to view the cattle and to learn more about our operation.
